It’s time to pull Matthew Broderick off the Broadway stage and back in front of the camera as he signs on to be part of Brett Ratner’s latest film “Tower Heist”. The actor joins a cast that includes Ben Stiller, Téa Leoni, Eddie Murphy, Michael Peña, Gabourey Sidibe and Alan Alda. The story, written by Noah Baumbach among a couple of others (not surprising), focuses on a group of hard working people who end up finding out they’re fallen for a wealthy business man’s scheme. They end up banning together and all work on robbing the man’s high-rise residence.
Broderick will take on the role of Chase Fitzhugh, a Wall Street guy who, like the building staff, had his finances cleaned out by the Bernie Madoff-like character (Alda), who is under house arrest in the luxury penthouse apartment atop the building. Brian Grazer is producing the picture that will be out in theaters sometime in 2011.
