Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) must get to LA in five days to be at the birth of his firstborn. He is about to fly home from Atlanta when his luggage and wallet are stolen, and he is put on the “no-fly” list. Desperate to get home Peter is forced to accept the offer of Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) to hitch a ride with him cross-country. Peter is about to Watch My Soul to Take Movie Online
Another one is the Phil Woodward (Chris Cooper) who was a faithful employee for the company for decades and now is in urgent need of a job to support his ill wife and a daughter who is in college. Interestingly, one of the founders of GTX, Gene McClary (Tommy Lee Jones) also becomes the victim of the economic downturn.
Wells as a director has done a commendable job by showing the ins and outs of the corporate world with expensive lunches, business meetings etc. but the storyline does not look very convincing because somewhere the actors have fallen slightly short on doing full justice to their roles.
Wells has an enviable career that has redefined television drama with the likes of series involving “ÒThe West Wing”Ó and “ÒER”Ó. But to much embarrassment, the technique he used for the film was too TV oriented with a lot of closeups and short shots.
In the end the film didn’t actually standup to the comparisons with the movie “ÒUp In The Air”Ó. Also, the movie fails to describe what happened to the other thousands of workers who were laid off and didn’t have any other means to survive. But over all, if you are not too picky, it will be a fun movie to watch movie and see how people behave when they loose a ?ÓPorsche and their golf club membership.
