The local authorities are no help, and none of the villagers will talk to her, so, desperate and with nowhere else to turn, Steph enlists Michael to help. But Michael has some secrets of his own, and may not be everything he seems. As the sheriff tells Steph, "just because he speaks English, doesn't mean you should trust him."
While not terribly original, "And Soon the Darkness" is an entertaining film that, within genre confines, delivers exactly what it promises--tension, suspense, and a story that catches and holds your attention throughout. Check it out, it's worth a look. It is also worth noting that this is Efron's first time out as a feature director, and if this is any indication, good things will come in the future.
"And Soon the Darkness" opens on December 17th in a limited theatrical run, with the DVD/Blu-ray release to follow shortly on December 28th.
The DVD comes with a collection of deleted scenes, and an excerpt from Efron's video diary that serves as a behind the scenes feature narrated by the director.    Watch English Movies online

Directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, and written by Julian Fellowes and Christopher McQuarrie, a new movie coming out soon is The Tourist and it's growing in popularity very quickly.
The Tourist revolves around Frank, an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path.
The first theatrical trailer for The Tourist starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie has gone online. Directed by Oscar winner Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck (The Lives of Others), the trailer more or less consists of Jolie being her typically seductive-self while Depp seems to be in trouble thanks to a classic case of mistaken identity. While I can't say the trailer did a ton for me, I definitely enjoyed the music which sets up the film as more fun than serious. I also liked seeing Depp in more of a typical "every-man" role in exchange for what has seemingly become his expected "over-the-top" character work (i.e. Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, Sweeney Todd, etc.).
