I am just finishing up a couple more reviews from the Toronto International Film Festival (Black Swan and The Whistleblower), but before I post those I wanted to finally get around to discussing the many acquisitions here at the festival as IFC and the Weinstein Co. have been rather busy along with a pick-up from Sony PIctures Classics, another from Roadside Attractions, one from Music Box Films, another from Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group and finally Magnet Releasing. Yeah, there are a lot to talk about so let's get cracking.

First off, one film I never got a chance to see due to a cancelled screening following several negative reviews is Robert Redford's The Conspirator, of which the general consensus I've heard is that it's quite boring and plays like a History Channel re-enactment rather than a feature film. At one point I thought this would be an Oscar contender, but Roadside Attractions has scooped it up and along with Lionsgate will release it in theaters Spring 2011.

The film was based on the film Planet of the Apes but unlike the previous films where humans crash landed on a planet filled with apes, the set of this film is here on Earth. The character Will Rodman was first offered to Tobey Maguire, but for some undisclosed issue it was dropped down by Maguire and the role went to James Franco. But I never thought of James Franco as a second options tot this role. In fact, he did great in his previous film 127 hours.

Franco was cast after talks with Tobey Maguire broke down. Freida Pinto and John Lithgowjoined the cast on June 22, 2010. Andy Serkis will play Caesar, the ape that leads the revolt. Tom Felton will also star as the human character Dodge. As of July 12, 2010, Brian Cox was in final negotiations to join the cast. According to his Twitter page, David Hewletthas also joined the cast, though he has not mentioned what his role in the film will be. Canadian actress Chelah Horsdal will also star as Irina.

Filming began in July 2010 in Vancouver, Canada. Filming also headed to San Francisco, California (main setting), and around O'ahu, Hawaii.Unlike previous films in the series, the apes in the film will be created digitally using CGI technology, by Weta Digital.

The full-length trailer for the latest in the Planet of the Apes saga, a long-in-development prequel entitled Rise of the Planet of the Apes, has debuted and you can watch it below.

So even though Wesley Snipes is in prison, his fans need not worry, because he’s still releasing movies, in this case Game of Death, with the lovely Zoe Bell and the always awesome Gary Daniels.
Unfortunately, even though Game of Death has the lovely Zoe Bell, the always awesome Gary Daniels and the in prison Wesley Snipes – it’s not actually that good.  Well, not as good as it should be anyway.
The film follows Wesley, Gazza and Bell as three CIA hitmen who like walking slowly to music and shooting people from outdoor staircases – you know, the usual CIA bullshit.  Anyway, they’ve got a new job, one which involves Snipes pretending to be a very bad man’s bodyguard, with the aim being to eventually kill him or arrest him or something.  However, Gary Daniels and Zoe Bell -
and so Wesley’s a bit miffed. Thus begins a big fight in a hospital and in a bank with guns and kicks and a bit where Wesley Snipes does this really cool thing where he basically punches this guy twice in the fingers and wrist (sounds shit BUT TRUST ME IT ISN’T).  It’s as clichéd as, well, pretty much all of Wesley Snipes’ recent movies, but then I suppose you wouldn’t have expected anything less?

In April 4th of 2010, Quintanilla family was found murdered in their country side house. Police reported the existence of 37 hours of recorded evidence. “Atrocious” shows the real images of such evidence. Quintanilla family traveled to their old farm house in Sitges, where Christian and July investigated about the Legend of the Girl in the Garraf woods. Both of them used to record all day whatever they did.
On the fifth day of their arrival they were found dead under strange circumstances. ATROCIOUS shows the last five days of life for Cristian Quintanilla and his siblings. It also shows the strange situations that they lived in those moments and which remain unexplained.
The Slamdance Film Festival (which is sort of the meth-head nephew of the Sundance Film Festival) used to screen films at theaters in Salt Lake City, but a few years ago they moved their whole operation to the Treasure Mountain Inn in Park City, in an obvious attempt to take advantage of Sundance‘s sloppy seconds. Skeptical of the new digs, I didn’t attend the Slamdance festival for several years, and missed 2008’s Paranormal Activity as a result, a fact that devastated me at the time.
(Until I actually watched Paranormal Activity, that is, and realized how little I’d missed out on.) Slamdance has been frantically fondling itself ever since Paranormal’s unlikely (and some would say, undeserved) catapult to the top of the indie flick box office, desperate to recreate that level of success. Which may partially explain why Atrocious––a very Blair Witch-ey found footage flick with Paranormal Activity undertones––was accepted into this year’s festival.    Watch Atrocious Movie Online

Having never before attended a screening at Treasure Mountain Inn, I have to say, I was extremely disappointed in the venue. (Let me apologize in advance for this one-paragraph rant…if you choose to skip to the end, no hard feelings). Padded metal chairs were stacked in Army-tight rows on a barely inclined surface. Because the chairs rows were aligned perfectly––and not staggered––the ONLY thing you could see was the back of the head of the person sitting in front of you. People stretched and leaned to see more of the screen. Experienced journalists crowded the aisle, sitting on the snow-soaked floor, since that was the only way to really watch the movie, but I was not privy to such secrets.   To View The Full HD : Free movies to watch online
