Unlike many action movies, Executive Decision pays some token attention to various details, which is the reason why it clocks in at the time it does (2:20 hours). For example, the docking sequence between the experimental aircraft and the 747, the defusing of the bomb, and the surveillance of the hijackers on the plane, are all shown in painstaking detail, while the actual termination of the terrorists happens in seconds. There's a reasonable degree of suspense maintained, and just when a particular scene starts getting boring, the action picks right up.
The timing of the release of Executive Decision is opportune: in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Israel, this should prove to be a good crowd attractor. The movie revolves around a trained killer Arjun. Arjun is a deadly slaughterer and a lethal executioner. The man behind Arjun’s development is Victor, a crime mastermind and specialised contract killer.
Victor the so called father of Arjun, treated him like him as his own son, but kept Arjun away from the outer world. Thus Arjun never had friends but only enemies. But one fine day Manasi enters his life and Arjun’s life take a turn. Sandwiched between Victor and Manasi, Arjun finds difficult to choose between the mentor and the love. In mid of this, Arjun is sent to Unisted States for an assignment. Post return from U.S, Arjun decides to give up crime and spend life with Manasi.
However then follows a twist as a goon named Orion returns from Greece after 30 years to take revenge of his killed son by Police Commissioner Shyam Singh. Orion meets Victor and gives him the contract, who in turn gives the assignment to Arjun. As Arjun pleads Victor to let him off the contract, Victor promises him of this being a final one.
Arjun’s life takes a dramatic turn and opens up in a strange way. As Arjun is about to become a father he realizes that he is the one responsible for killing Commissioner’s son. The movie disappoints the viewer to the core. The director Deepak Bandhu fails hugely to impress the audience. The story and the screenplay have too many loop holes and fall short to meet the expectations of the audience. The music has no scope in the movie. The actors disappoint largely.
