Watch Bride Flight Punch Mega-video

There I was, thinking I was watching a film pitched to the genteel ladies of the Bayswater Bowling Club, when suddenly I cop an eyeful of well-toned rump.   Watch Bride Flight Movie Online
But I’m making it sound like a light-porn romp, which Bride Flight most certainly is not. The film, by Dutch director Ben Sombogaart, follows the lives of three Dutch women who are aboard the KLM flight that won the 1953 air race from London to Christchurch, New Zealand. Ada (Karina Smulders) is a naïve young farm-girl; Marjorie (Elise Schaap) a dogmatic gal with a plan, intent on marriage and the whole domestic package; while Esther (Anna Drijver) is a fashion designer, escaping from a past she’d rather forget.
All three are on their way to meet Dutch husbands already settled in New Zealand. Also on the flight is Frank (Waldemar Torenstra), he of the well-toned rump.
The story is elegantly structured, slipping between the present day and the early 50s with ease. The three women are now in their 70s and are reunited by news of Frank’s death. Each has a connection to Frank and the news of his abrupt demise prompts them to revisit their past.
It’s giving away nothing to say that Frank, like most men who resemble a happy hybrid  Watch Bride Flight Movie Online
of Robert Redford and Anthony Hopkins,
had a pretty busy time of it in his younger years.
The screenplay, written by Marieke van der Pol, is bursting with drama. At times it’s a little heavy-handed, relying on familiar stereotypes and narrative tropes to push the story along.
Still, the emotional pull of the film and the dramatic meatiness of the story are certainly compelling – one is never bored. One of the real coups of the film is the inspired casting. How often have you seen a film in which the younger version of the character looks nothing at all like the older? The older versions of the three women (Pleuni Touw as Ada, Petra Laseur as Marjorie, Willeke van Ammelrooy as Esther) are not only gifted actors, they also share a realistic resemblance to their younger counterparts.
Though in large part a romance, Bride Flight ultimately has bigger fish to fry. Seen from the wistful viewpoint of three women in their latter years, the film is a reflective look at the choices we make and the lives we live. And there’s no richer subject than that.
Three young women – Ada (Karina Smulders), Esther (Anna Drijver), and Marjorie (Elise Schaap) – emigrate from post-WWII Holland to New Zealand for what they hope will be a better life. They are all awaited by their fiancés, who have already settled in Christchurch. On the plane trip overseas – dubbed the “Bride Flight” – the three become fast friends and meet a dashing young man, Frank (Waldemar Torenstra), who will come to play a large role in each of their lives. They part ways on arrival in their new country and begin their new lives, but their paths continue to cross in the years to come. Chance meetings result in love affairs, betrayal and impenetrable bonds, leading up to a final reunion fifty years later. The film’s screenplay and the best-selling Dutch novel “Bruidsvlucht” on which it was based were both written by Marieke van der Pol.
